3E Training
3E Training provides a variety of onsite, instructor-led training programs. If a web-based training system is preferred, 3E can refer you to our training partner. As part of any organization's management of hazardous materials, many employees must complete training programs that range from general awareness to more specific areas such as chemical spills or the management of hazardous waste. 3E maintains a database of certified trainers located throughout the U.S. and Canada who can administer instructor-led training programs, including the following:
Hazard Communication General Awareness Training (2-hour)
Hazard Communication Training under 29CFR 1910.1200 is required by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) for all employees that have the potential to be exposed to, or work with, hazardous materials in the workplace. 3E's HazCom General Awareness Training is tailored to a specific customer's needs and compliant with Federal and State Hazard Communication Regulations.
Hazard Communication Train-the-Trainer Training (8-hour)
3E's Train-the-Trainer Program offers training for internal customer trainers, who can then in turn perform Hazard Communication training. The Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) 29CFR 1910.1200 requires training of all employees that have the potential to be exposed to chemical hazards in the workplace. 3E's HazCom General Awareness Training is tailored to a specific customer's needs and compliant with Federal and State Hazard Communication Regulations. 3E will also provide trainer and employee workbooks and overhead transparencies for internal trainer to use.
Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) Training (24/40-Hour)
Emergency Response Training is required by The Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) under 29CFR 1910.120. Employees designated to respond to hazardous material emergencies are required to complete Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) training. 3E's 40-Hour Emergency Response training at the technician level is available for customers whose potential risk from on-site hazardous materials releases/incidents requires additional emergency response training.
First responders at the technician level are individuals who respond to releases or potential releases of hazardous substances with the intention of stopping the release. They assume a more aggressive role than a first responder at the operations level. 3E's 40-hour Technician level trained personnel approach the point of release to plug, patch or otherwise stop the release of hazardous materials. Certification of each participant is contingent upon successful completion of a written exam.
HAZWOPER Annual Refresher Training (8-Hour)
Any employee who is trained in accordance with the Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) standard is required to receive annual refresher training of sufficient content and duration to maintain their competencies, under 29 CFR 1910.120. 3E provides an 8-hour annual refresher training to satisfy this requirement. Certification of each participant is contingent upon successful completion of training.
Transportation 8-Hour Training - Ground
Department of Transportation Training is required by the DOT for any employee who is responsible for the safe transportation of hazardous materials under 49CFR 172.700. This includes any employee who loads or unloads vehicles, prepares shipping papers, packages for transport, or transports hazardous materials by ground. The DOT requires that the training program incorporate three aspects of hazardous material transportation safety: general awareness, specific employee functions, and employee/driver safety. 3E provides an 8-hour training session compliant with the Department of Transportation's requirements. Certification of each participant is contingent upon successful completion of a written exam.
