MSDgen Label Printing and Distribution

MSDgen’s extensive set of Distribution options ensures a company’s MSDSs, labels and other HazCom documents are published, distributed, and retrieved in any manner it desires. Using MSDgen’s automated distribution options along with an interface to an order-entry system, MSDSs may be printed, faxed, or e-mailed as customer orders are processed. And, with the iMSDgen MSDSviewer web distribution add-on, MSDSs in varying formats and languages may be searched and retrieved by a web browser via the Internet or Intranet. Also, full Label Production may be established so that MSDgen automatically generates the HazCom labels at the appropriate facility based on orders, shipping, or production triggers obtained through an MSDgen interface to the company’s ERP.

With an MSDgen interface to the corporate Customer Order system, MSDSs are automatically distributed to customers as order transactions occur. Logic for MSDS distributions is controlled in MSDgen and configured to meet the company’s distribution preferences. Examples of automated MSDS distribution criteria include:

  • Sending an MSDS when the customer initially purchases a product
  • Sending an MSDS update when the information within an MSDS has changed since the last distribution to the customer (distribution is based on the significance level of change)
  • Re-sending an MSDS when a year as passed since the customer last received an MSDS for a particular product

When one of these conditions occurs, MSDSs are distributed based on the preferred method of distribution for each downstream customer – hardcopy or e-mail. The MSDSs are accompanied with user-defined cover letters that automatically include the recipient’s name, a list of the attached MSDSs, and optionally an indication of what has changed on the MSDS since the last distributed version. And, using the MSDS Customer Delivery History module, the user may immediately review all of the MSDS distribution activity that has occurred for each customer.

    CHEMTREC MSDSs are automatically generated, in the required format and file type, whenever a new MSDS version is finalized. This same export facility may be used to deliver MSDS files to other agencies as well.

    Retrieve multi-language MSDSs as well as search for documents in any language. Cross-language functionality enables a Spanish MSDS document to be generated using the Dutch language. Companies can even specify their own unique search and retrieval language defaults.

  • Flexible Distribution Options

    Users can select, queue, then e-mail documents directly from the web pages. This is ideal for Intranet users who wish to fulfill ad hoc customer requests or for use by sales people who need to quickly and easily provide MSDSs and Technical/Product Data Sheets to potential customers.

  • MSDfax-back
