The February 14th issue of Japan Chemical Week featured an interview with Bob Christie, CEO and President, 3E Company.  During the interview, Bob discussed the company's international growth strategy.  The full article can be viewed here.

Canadian Occupational Safety, a leading Canadian EHS publication recently published a story, "Chemical Hazards Put Workers, Environment at Risk" which details the serious challenges companies face in managing chemical hazards.  In addition to citing 3E's online MSDS management services, the article also mentions our MSDS On Demand, regulatory data, and ER/call center services.   The full article can be viewed here.

MSDgen 5.07 is now available! This new version of the MSDgen MSDS authoring system includes several new features, including:

  • Enhanced toxicological and ecological sections whereby MSDgen now conveniently selects only the most relevant data to present on your (M)SDS documents.
  • Automatic loading of the ARC (After Reaction Composition) tab with only those ingredients that are not specified as reactants. Any ingredients declared as reactants are automatically reacted out of the ARC.
  • An updated Ariel Import process which enables the utilization of multiple processors in cases where multiple processors are available on the server where the database is installed.
  • A new Rule exclusion option to support the exclusion of the various GHS categories that are not being adopted by certain countries like Korea.

3E is pleased to offer a new service, Onsite Inventory Assessment with Quantities! This new service provides customers with an accurate, site-specific, hazardous materials inventory including the quantities of products at each location. To perform this service, 3E personnel go to a specified location(s) to acquire information related to an accurate hazardous materials inventory based on primary hazardous material containers onsite. During the Onsite Inventory Assessment, 3E will attempt to collect the following information for each hazardous material:

  • Product Name
  • Manufacturer Name
  • Manufacturer's Part Number
  • Physical State
  • Location
  • Number of Containers Present
  • Container Size
  • Container Unit of Measure

Are you finding it difficult to track regulatory changes?

For 3E Online – Platinum Expert Edition customers there is hope. 3E Online’s Regulatory Impact Analysis provides a report of regulatory changes related to products in specified inventory locations. Simply select Regulatory Impact Analysis from the Chemical Analysis tab. Select a location, choose a date range and run your report. The report contains a list of regulatory changes by product and regulatory list. If you want to know more about a regulatory change, simply select the month/year to get a full report. If you are not currently a 3E Online – Platinum Expert Edition user and would like more information on this and other Platinum Expert features please contact your sales representative.

Meet the 3Experts...........................................................................................................

 

Jacki Burns is Supervisor of Transportation and Classification Services, 3E Company. She has been with 3E Company since 1995, beginning her career as a customer service representative in both the MSDS and Transportation Services departments. Over the past twelve years, she has had many responsibilities related to transportation, fire code, and waste classification services.

Ms. Burns has trained representatives from over fifty companies and has visited clients throughout the United States addressing their individual Transportation needs. She has been instrumental in helping 3E’s clients develop customized hazardous materials management programs. These programs not only address training issues, but encompass total compliance solutions while keeping costs and compliance burdens to a minimum. As a project manager for transportation and classification services, she has overseen the classification and delivery of hundreds of thousands of inventory items. In her current role, she manages an experienced team of specialists focused on providing excellent support to our current customers while expanding our services to international venues.

Ms. Burns completed the Bachelor of Arts program in English at the University of California, Irvine. She continues her professional development with her participation in both the annual COSTHA conferences and Cooperative Hazardous Materials Education seminars, in association with the Transportation Safety Institute established by the U.S. Department of Transportation.

In 2007, Ms. Burns gave birth to a daughter, Madelaine Rose. When she isn’t playing peek-a-boo or reading nursery rhymes with her daughter, she likes playing tennis, quilting, and enjoys an annual drive up the California coast with her husband of six years, Nathan.

During this session, Mr. Tyson will discuss the serious subject of workplace health and safety, focusing on best practices and practical ways to manage OSHA inspection. Participants will learn ten tips for avoiding most inspections in the first place, and, when an inspection cannot be avoided, how to prepare in advance with specific do's and don'ts. Although facing an inspection by OSHA is hardly considered positive, you can survive the event if you are well prepared. Take steps to prevent repeated citations and willful violations by practicing good audit/inspection management.
